Health & Climate:

January To April - Average Temperatures during these months range from a minimum of 18 degrees C to a maximum of 40 degrees C.

The December rains make provision for the high temperatures and vibrant shades of green that are evident during this period. Often the heat decreases in the late afternoons and evenings by the accumulation of clouds, and you may have the privilege to experience one of Botswana's notorious refreshing thunderstorms. The Limpopo River will however not complain as it may be flowing robustly during January.

The temperature bends the throttle in February - one of the most sizzling months at Tuli. Afternoon thunderstorms are characteristic of this time of the year. Later during this period the severe, luminous heat of summer starts to evaporate.
April is a truly captivating time of year in the Tuli block as autumn makes his way through the African sky with mild days and nights. Sejalwa sese tala le tlhaga e enoneng meaning green plants and thick bush are stil visible. The close-knit Tuli bush paints vivid colours that gradually turn to gold. Once in an African blue moon, rains may come unplanned and unannounced as Mother Nature surprizes us yet again.

May To August - Average Temperatures during these months range from a minimum of 8 degrees C to a maximum of 29 degrees C.

The Tuli valley transforms from summer to winter as fast as lightning. As the sun greets the ski blue day, it leaves us with crisp mornings and evenings. It is then when Mzilikazi, the Zulu chief's skin starts to dry out. Golden leaves dance with the Tuli winds as the trees get rid of them and then June's winter introduces herself to our guests. Thanks to the heightened concentration of fauna and refined flora, it is guaranteed to see Tuli's animals of prey in action. The Tuli Game Reserve embraces the dusty winter months as the landscape covers itself with reds and browns, dust and rock.

August portrays breath taking sunsets and rises in their utmost perfection. Pleasant weather can be expected with temperatures increasing day by day. The ideal time of the year to snuggle in your fluffy gown and enjoy a steamy drink on Tuli's porch, overlooking Botswana's vast landscapes.

September To December - Average Temperatures during these months range from a minimum of 16 degrees C to a maximum of 33 degrees C.

Tuli welcomes the winds from the west as they travel through till October. Trees begin to blossom and flowers start making their way through soil as they are called on by summer. Temperatures begin to rise. Mother Nature open heartedly accepts the untimely rains during this period and the Nyala trees (Xanthocercis zambeziaca) alongside the Limpopo bank don not complain either. Closer to the end of October, guests may experience a dense humidity whist the bush starts to liven up in preparation of Tuli's traditional thunderstorms.

December is an energetic and lively nature performance with rains pouring from the African sky and thunder rumbling in the background. Morass and lowland along the Limpopo River fills with water, which fascinates water birds as they take advantage of the explosion of insects, reptiles and amphibians. Whistling migratory birds return in flocks, tree tops sing of joy, grassland excitedly fill up from the valleys below and the lion's growl is loud and clear.

The question that might be lingering in the back of your mind now may be when the perfect time to visit Tuli Game Reserve is? The answer is simple as the fluctuations in temperatures, thunderstorms, dusty and dry landscapes all bring their own unique beauty along. Therefore the perfect time to visit Tuli Game Reserve is - ALWAYS.
